MNNIT Allahabad (formerly known as MNREC), is an Institute of National Importance as declared by the Parliament through the NIT Act, Government of India. Apart from these regular courses, a lot of emphasis is given to research and development. Currently every academic department has its own significant number of PhD scholars and substantial amount of research work is going on. Students at other levels are actively involved in research fields to form a strong dedicated workforce.Apart from the academics, students actively participate in institute's extra-curricular activities through national level technical fest Avishkar, cultural fest Culrav and sports fest Josh for the overall grooming of their personality.

Also, the admissions in different courses are on the basis of various reputed entrance exams like in B.Tech is through JEE- MAINS, M.Tech admissions are on the basis of GATE score while MBA admissions are through CAT scores and MCA admission are done through NIMCET. The institute attracts top rankers of these competitive examinations for various programs.

We spare no efforts to groom our students, not only in their chosen discipline, but also broaden their mindsets and create positive attitudes thus equipping them with all qualities to make them an asset to whichever institute/organization they may join. Undergraduates undergo an eight-week training in reputed organizations, both in India or abroad, while MCA students undergo a training of 6 months during their last semester.
